how to breathe even when life knocked the wind out of us,
and how to lift each other up—stroke by stroke, moment by moment.

Your whistle may be silent now,

In life, you were our rock.
To your swimmers, you were an inspiration.
To your family, you were everything.

Emily Zornes Logan, long time teacher and highly respected coach of Greenfield Central High School women's swim team and GCAT, went to be with her Lord after a hard-fought battle with cancer on January 27, 2025. A lifelong resident of Hancock County and a proud graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Emily was known for her unwavering support of swimmers and coaches alike—no matter the team colors they wore.

Her passion for teaching and coaching extended far beyond the classroom and pool deck. Emily was a force when it came to her kids—and that meant every swimmer she ever coached and every student she ever taught. Her heart knew no boundaries, and her encouragement left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Her greatest pride and joy came from her family left behind.  It is through them that she will continue to shine as they ensure her legacy carries on to the next generations.
